*Changed from 10 and Under Handicap to 8 and Under Handicap in 1972 From 1946 up to and including 1966, there was only one BC Junior Championship. In 1967, the Championship was divided into two Championships – the major Championship being the 10 and Under (now 8 and Under) and the second for Juniors with handicaps of 11 to 18. The latter group was changed to 9 to 18 in 1972. In 2002, Regional Junior Qualifying began for entry into the BC Junior. In 2001, the BC Juvenile Championship was created for golfers under 17.

The BC Junior Girls’ is open to female amateur golfers who are 18 years of age and under as of the last day of the tournament. The field is open to a maximum of 60 competitors, with exemptions for the Zone Team Members. The BC Junior Girls Championship is a 54-hole gross stroke play competition with no cut. Ties for 1st place and for positions on the BC Team to the Canadian Junior Girls Championship will be decided by a sudden death playoff immediately following completion of play of the final round. The BC Junior Girls’ Championship also has a net division, with prizes awarded for 1st and 2nd low net finisher. The Zone Team competition coincides with the first and second round of the BC Junior Girls’ Championships. The Zone Team gross and net competition use the combined 36-hole gross and net scores for each zone team member. The Zone Team consists of players who are chosen by each zone in advance of the provincial championship.
 
B.C. Juvenile Boys'

The tournament is open to BCGA members who have a Handicap Factor of 18.0 or less and who have not reached 17 year of age prior to midnight the final day of the Championship. Players must be currently eligible to participate in Club, Zone and BCGA events and may be required to present proof of their current membership in the BCGA/RCGA or foreign golf association.

The BC Juvenile Boys’ Championship is a 54-hole stroke play gross competition. There will be a cut to the low 60 and ties after 36 holes. The BCGA reserves the right to adjust the cut size based on the present field.

The Boys’ Club Team Championship and Boys’ Zone Team Championship will coincide with the first and second rounds of the BC Juvenile. Four player zone teams are named by each zone prior to the start of the tournament. The zone team championship uses the low 3 of 4 scores each day. The two player club teams are selected after the first round by taking the two players with the lowest score from each club with two or more competitors. The club championship takes both scores from the club teams.
 
From 1974 to 2001, this event was run as part of the BC Junior/Juvenile Championship.

The BC Juvenile Girls’ Championship is 54-hole stroke play gross competition. The present size of the Juvenile Girls Championship is too small to warrant a cut. This may be re-evaluated if field size proves sufficient.

At present time there field for the Juvenile Girls is not large enough to hold club or zone team competitions.

The first Bantam Girls' Championship was held in 2003. The first Bantam Boys’ Championship was held in 2002.

The BC Bantam Championship is a 36-hole stroke play gross competition. The boys are competing in the BC Boys’ Bantam Championship and the girls in the BC Girls’ Bantam Championship. Players must not have reached their 14th birthday by the final day of the championship.
