Destinations
BC Golf Destinations include the Columbia Valley, Okanagan, Kamloops, Whistler, Vancouver and Vancouver Island.
While you can play golf almost anywhere in British Columbia, the best golf is concentrated in a few golf destinations. These combine the highest quality golf with a range of accommodation from 5 star resorts and hotels to intimate B&B’s. Some of Canada's best resort golf can be found at Bear Mountain, Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Predator Ridge and Greywolf.
Kamloops is Canada’s newest golf destination. There is real variety in the region from mountain, to parkland and desert courses. Tobiano, a new Thomas McBroom course, recently was named Best New Course in Canada by Golf Digest Magazine. Talking Rock was a runner up.
Vancouver, home to the 2010 Olympics, is Canada’s cosmopolitan city with superb shopping, dining and accommodation. Vancouver is ringed by courses, with both mountain and parkland courses. Furry Creek is often regarded as Canada’s most scenic course, nestled between the mountains and the ocean. A number of other courses are very convenient to the city.
Vancouver Island boasts Canada’s most temperate climate and 10 courses carved from mountains and forests. Victoria is one of those destinations that visitors love – and love to return to. Bear Mountain Resort boasts the only 36 hole Nicklaus design in Canada. It hosted the 2010 World Skins Game. Highland Pacific recently opened its second nine holes to rave reviews.
Whistler is long known as one of the best ski resorts in the world, but the quality of the golf is also exceptional. Four signature courses plus outstanding accommodation, shopping and dining make Whistler a "can't miss" golf trip. The scenic backdrop of these courses is spectacular.
The Columbia Valley, on the western side of the Rocky Mountains is Canada's mountain golf paradise. Eight courses plus the resort experience, make the region attractive to golfers who want to see the Rockies from the sunny side.
The sunny Okanagan is Canada’s wine country, but also offers courses set in desert-like plateaus or gently placed in verdant orchards. The climate is Mediterranean and perfect for golf. Predator Ridge is one of the top golf resorts in Canada and recently hosted the World Skins Game. It just opened its new Doug Carrick designed Ridge Course.
Regardless of which golf destination you choose, you can be guaranteed that you’ll receive the best of service, in the way that Canadians are known for.
